Xoom Otterbox Defender – $89.95

I happened to check the Otterbox website and discovered that you can now sign up to be notified when the case is available. It’s currently priced at $89.95.  There are a number of photos on the website, including one of the fold-out stand that’s built into the case.

OtterBox We are currently working on a Defender Series for the Xoom, it is in development now. We will try to keep you updated on its progress on our wall!

 

I’ve seen rumor stating that it might be out as early as late March.   If you haven’t used an Otterbox before, it’s an awesome shock absorbing case.  I’ve dropped my iPhone a number of times, even on asphalt.   A plastic clam shell snaps around the device and a thick rubber sleeve wraps around the clam shell with a clear cover across the display.   I don’t imagine this will be cheap, since the iPhone version is around $50.  It wouldn’t surprise me if the Otterbox Xoom case were around $100, but to me this is an insurance policy on an $800 device.
